Why shouldn't I fear death?

By embracing life, we also embrace death. Besides, we are made up of tiny particles that are constantly dying and replenishing and communicating with each other. Thus, we are being born and dying every moment of every day. This non-dualism can be embraced by being right here, right now and directly participating in your life, your reality.

..and why are kittens so cute yet so annoying?

They're annoying because they never do what you want them to do. That makes them cute as well. They are also cute because babies need to be cute so we will take care of them. They are curious. Have patience.

Hope curiosity, in this case, doesn't kill the cat.

What are your thoughts about solving the US banking crisis?

Big public works things. We need to create them. Think of building the Trans-Canada Highway 2009-style. Useful, for the masses, by the masses. Sustainability. Lots of jobs. Lots of $$$$. Lots of love.

Tips on learning how to ride a bike as an adult?

Okay. We hear there are adult tricycles. That's probably the best bet. If your heart is set on a two-wheeler- you'll need a patient friend OR band together with the neighbourhood kids. They'll appreciate the camaraderie. Community Bike Network or Dufferin Grove Park in Toronto may have some programs. If you are not in Toronto, there are probably some reasonable facsimiles in other places.

1) Two hands on the handlebars.
2) Keep up the momentum! Going slow is and advanced move!
3) Learn on grass.
4) Wear safety gear.
5) Laugh at yourself.
6) Spring for training wheels, if your ego can handle it.

why can't i get my cats to sit next to me/on me when i ask them to?

nobody likes being told what to do.

How do they make light bulbs?

tungsten. put a special glass over it. then suck out all the air. it's inside a vacuum!

but it's about heat really.

but new squiggly light bulbs don't operate under the same conditions. they produce less heat. thus, in places that have greener electricity sources (nfld, bc manitoba and quebec) it can produce more greenhouse gases than the old ones. the old ones reduce your heating load. the new ones don't.
